Cover the meatballs in flour. Keep in mind that you only need a small amount. This will make the meatballs more consistent and the the tomato sauce thicken.

Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Fry the meatballs until they are done in the outside but still raw in the inside (if you fry them in excess at the end the meatballs will be super dry)

While the meatballs are frying, start grating the tomatoes.

Once the meatballs are fried but a little bitt raw inside, add the grated tomato, salt and sugar (to remove the sourness of the tomatoes).

Don't worry if you don't put too much salt. It is better to correct it after than being too salty.
(at the end you will taste if its ok and add it more if it's needed, we prefer to put less now so we can correct it after)

Now it's time to be patient an relax, it takes some time to get the tomato sauce done.

Other info

In our case we buy the meatballs already done to avoid wasting time.

We know that some people buy the tomato already fried and if you want to be faster you can do it but from our experience it's not the same, the taste it's different and we prefer to do it at home.
